What is a coffee bike, and how is it different from a coffee cart or truck?

It is a custom three wheel espresso bar on a bike frame: a commercial espresso machine, grinder, milk, syrups, and cups, all self-contained. Unlike a truck or trailer, it fits through a standard 36 inch doorway, sets up indoors or outdoors, holds a footprint about the size of a folding table, and runs with no generator. That means no engine noise during your ceremony and no venue telling you there is nowhere to park it.

What areas do you serve?

All of Cochise County and the surrounding area: Sierra Vista, Fort Huachuca, Huachuca City, Whetstone, Bisbee, Tombstone, Benson, St. David, Willcox, and Douglas, plus the Sonoita, Elgin, and Patagonia wine country just west of the county line. We are based in Sierra Vista, and as far as we know we are the only mobile coffee bike based in the county.

Can you set up on Fort Huachuca?

Yes, with lead time. Short term visitors do not need a government sponsor, but our staff has to clear a background check at the Visitor Control Center, which sits at the Van Deman Gate and is open weekdays only, roughly 5:30 in the morning to 5:30 in the evening. So a Saturday family day or a pre dawn ceremony means badging in beforehand on a weekday, not on the morning of your event. Events bringing more than 250 guests through the gates also need an Ease of Access request to Physical Security about 90 days out. Tell us your date early and we will handle our side of it with your point of contact.

How far will you travel?

Anywhere in Cochise County, and west into wine country. From our Sierra Vista base: ten minutes to Huachuca City, about twenty miles to Tombstone, half an hour to Bisbee, forty minutes to Benson, forty five minutes to Sonoita, and a little over an hour to Willcox or Douglas. If you are just outside that range, ask. We will tell you honestly whether it works.

Is there a travel fee for events outside Sierra Vista?

There is no travel fee inside Sierra Vista. For events elsewhere in the county there is a modest travel charge, quoted up front and included in your written estimate, so the number you see is the number you pay. Because we are based here, that charge covers a short drive rather than someone coming down from Tucson or Phoenix.

What's included in a booking?

A professional barista for the full duration of your event, the commercial espresso machine and grinder, premium espresso and fresh milk, dairy free alternatives, flavored syrups, the complete hot and iced drink menu, cups, lids, straws, napkins, and stirrers, plus delivery, setup, and teardown. There are no per drink charges and no equipment rental fees.

How many guests can you serve?

The bike serves roughly 50 drinks an hour with one barista, which comfortably covers 15 to 100 guests over a typical two to three hour window. For larger events we add a second barista to keep the line moving. Tell us your guest count and event length and we will tell you exactly what your event needs.

Do you need electricity or water on site?

Accepted Answer

No. The bike is fully self-contained, with no power outlet, no water hookup, and no generator. That is what makes it work at barn and ranch venues, vineyards, parade fields, park pavilions, and historic buildings where utilities are limited or a long way from where you actually want to stand.

How much space does the coffee bike need?

About the footprint of a folding table, plus room for the barista to work and a spot for guests to line up. It fits through a standard 36 inch doorway and sets up on grass, gravel, dirt, concrete, tile, or carpet. If you can fit a vendor booth, you can fit the bike.

Can you serve indoors?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Because there is no generator and no exhaust, the bike works indoors as easily as outdoors: office lobbies, conference halls, parish halls, tasting rooms, ballrooms, and living rooms. We roll it through the door and set up in about fifteen minutes.

Do you offer non-coffee drinks?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Chai lattes, matcha lattes, hot chocolate, vanilla steamers, and Italian sodas are all on the standard menu, along with decaf espresso. Kids and non-coffee drinkers are never stuck with nothing to order.

Do you offer dairy alternatives?

Accepted Answer

Always. Oat, almond, and coconut milk are stocked at every event at no extra charge, and decaf is available on request.

Can you create a custom menu or a signature drink for my event?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and it is one of the most popular things to add. Couples name a signature drink after themselves, companies build one around a product launch, and event organizers tie one to a theme. We will put it on a menu board that matches your colors or your invitations.

Can you do custom branding on cups?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Branded cups or cup sleeves with your company logo are available as an add-on, and co-branded cups work well for grand openings, brand activations, and sponsored events. Every drink becomes a walking advertisement for the rest of the day. Let us know at least a couple of weeks ahead so the printing lands in time.

Do you serve alcohol or espresso cocktails?

We do not serve alcohol. We are happy to work alongside your bar or caterer, since an espresso bar next to a bar is a good combination late in the evening, and we can build alcohol free versions of drinks like an espresso martini for guests who are not drinking.

What happens if it rains?

Accepted Answer

The bike has a built-in awning and keeps serving through light weather. If conditions turn, it moves indoors in a few minutes, which is something a coffee truck cannot do. Sierra Vista sits at 4,600 feet, so the practical weather concern here is usually a summer monsoon afternoon or a cold evening rather than the heat.

Can you serve at vineyard and winery events?

Yes. Vineyard and tasting room events in Sonoita, Elgin, Patagonia, and Willcox are a natural fit for a coffee bike. It works in the rows, on patios, and on uneven ground with no outlet nearby, and coffee gives designated drivers something worth ordering. Morning after brunch service for destination wedding guests is a popular add-on.

How far in advance should I book?

For a wedding or a Saturday event in peak season, four to six weeks ahead is comfortable. For an office event or a small party, a week or two is usually plenty, and same week availability is often open when plans come together late. Events on Fort Huachuca need more lead time, since gate clearance happens on a weekday beforehand and large events need an access request about 90 days out.

Deposit and cancellation terms are spelled out in your written quote before you commit to anything, so there are no surprises. If plans change, tell us as early as you can and we will do what we can to reschedule rather than cancel.
